Parts Specialist

The Parts Specialist (Counter Sales) is responsible for providing superior customer service throughout the parts sales experience, including handling counter sales, ordering and procuring parts and inventory, and supporting our service department and outside sales team. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Serve as an inside sales associate, including handling counter sales, as well as phone and email inquiries, and support the outside sales team as needed.
  • Respond to and follow up with customer’s needs while providing outstanding customer service
  • Ensure accurate and timely parts procurement, including ability to read diagrams and identify correct part numbers, order parts within the customers specifications, and maintain appropriate communication with the customer on order status (availability, cost, etc.)
  • Track and manage shipping and receiving of parts, and assist with inventory as needed, including ensuring inventory is accurately accounted for in internal software
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all three locations (Columbia, Ephrata, and Beavertown), and provide support across locations as needed
  • Collaborate with and support Service Department on parts management for internal customers and technicians
  • Maintain tidiness of store, including stocked and organized shelves, and electronic displays
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in parts sales environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to positively interact with individuals across the business (customers, colleagues, vendors, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills & ability to utilize computer programs and software effectively
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift Certification
  • Previous experience within the heavy duty trucking industry
  • Parts product knowledge or experience with inventory management

 

In addition to the aforementioned qualifications, candidates must be able to meet the following expectations:

  • Ability to routinely use standard office equipment (i.e. computers, telephones, photocopiers, etc.)
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, reach, stoop, and kneel
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
  • Exposure to fumes of airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
  • Exposure to high noise levels
  • Ability to handle “on the road” situations that develop (weather conditions, accidents, etc.)
  • Vision Requirements: close vision, distance vision, depth perception
